Midwest Veterinary Specialists LLC provides affordable high-quality surgical care in the private practice setting throughout Wisconsin and Iowa. The team is led by Dr. Bergh, who is an experienced small-animal surgeon. She was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009 and the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2012.
Originally from Madison, Wis., Dr. Bergh attended veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin, completed a one-year rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania, a three-year residency in small-animal surgery, and a master’s degree program at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Bergh is a frequent national and international speaker and educator, and she has published hundreds of scientific articles, proceedings and book chapters. She is an AOVET faculty member and the chairman of AOVET courses on fracture management and canine sports medicine traumatology. Formerly a tenured associate professor and the director of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine Canine Rehabilitation Service, she retains an affiliate associate professor position within the college.
Her interests include canine sporting injuries, fracture management, joint replacement, treatments for cruciate ligament disease and physical rehabilitation.
